Warning

UBL-CR-262: The invoice should not include a delivery contact for the buyer

In short

Warning: worth checking.

UBL-CR-262 means the file has a delivery contact (cac:DeliveryContact) directly inside the buyer's details, which EN 16931 has no field for. Remove that element or switch off the matching option in your invoicing software. It is only a warning, so the file is still accepted.

What it means

Checks that the buyer's details (cac:AccountingCustomerParty) in a UBL invoice or credit note do not contain a delivery contact (cac:DeliveryContact). UBL allows this element, but EN 16931 has no business term for it. The buyer contact that EN 16931 does allow (BG-9: name BT-56, telephone BT-57, email BT-58) lives in cac:Party/cac:Contact and is not affected by this rule.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The standard has no field for a delivery contact, so the recipient's software has nowhere to store it and normally ignores it. It is worth fixing when a recipient asks for a file without warnings, or when the contact really matters, because it will not reliably reach anyone in this element.

How to fix it

Look in your invoicing software for a delivery contact or extra contact on the customer record, clear it and export again, or look for an export setting that leaves extra contacts out. If you want the buyer's contact person on the invoice, use the normal buyer contact name, telephone and email. If you build the XML yourself, delete cac:DeliveryContact from cac:AccountingCustomerParty.
