What happens to my files?

Browser viewing stays on your device. Server tools do not archive uploads. Read about processing locations, encrypted checkout results and email delivery.

On this page

Klarbon does not create a document archive. The site viewer opens files on your device without uploading them; server tools process files for your request. Checkout can keep an encrypted result in your tab, and email delivery can retain messages and attachments. Processing is not guaranteed to stay entirely in the EU.

Which tools send my file to a server?

The site viewer, extension and widget open files locally. Checking, converting, fixing, making and bank conversion send the file or entered data to servers. API and MCP calls use servers even to open an invoice. Email-in receives your message and sends a reply.

Klarbon uses Cloudflare's global network. Request handling and TLS decryption can happen outside the EU; a processing-location preference is not an EU-only guarantee (placement documentation). Choose browser viewing when the document must not be uploaded.

What waits in my browser?

Shared files wait only in service worker memory, under a random id, until claimed once or for 60 seconds. A restart loses the handover: share again or use the picker. Older share caches are removed when the updated worker activates. Opened files then stay in page memory until you clear them or leave.

Before payment, the result is encrypted by the server with AES-256-GCM. If you leave to sign in or pay, only ciphertext, tool, credit cost, optional export format and server expiry wait in this tab's sessionStorage. No filename or unencrypted document data is stored there, and the decryption key stays on the server.

Invoice and bank statement results normally expire 30 minutes after preparation, not checkout. Resuming or abandoning it clears the stored entry. Expired entries are removed on page load or by an active-page timer; a suspended browser may delay deletion. Files you deliberately download remain where you save them.

What happens to email-in replies?

Klarbon does not archive forwarded messages in the application, and sent-message previews are switched off in our email service (delivery documentation). The reply still passes through the email service on its way to you, and your mailbox keeps the copies it receives. Do not use email-in if you cannot allow those copies.

What do logs and analytics contain?

Application diagnostics exclude document content and filenames. Operational logs can contain network and request metadata; stored Worker logs have a maximum seven-day retention (logging documentation). Product analytics record categories such as page type, tool, step, format and error code, not invoice fields, and are retained for three months.

Analytics uses no cookies. Language preferences, sign-in and referral attribution do. Security checks also process technical signals such as IP addresses and browser information (Turnstile privacy notice). Cookie-free analytics does not mean no personal data is processed.

What about accounts and extraction?

Accounts retain email, language, plan, credits and payment references. Anonymous server tools retain pseudonymous usage counts for 90 days and rate-limit records. See the privacy policy for the wider data-handling terms.

PDF extraction is not currently enabled. Structured e-invoices are read without it. Klarbon does not use uploaded documents as training examples. For questions about your own obligations, consult your adviser; a file-handling description is not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions

Does Klarbon keep my invoices or bank statements?

The browser viewer does not upload your file. Server tools do not create a document archive. Encrypted checkout results can wait in your tab, and email delivery can retain messages and attachments, as explained below.

Which tools send my file to a server?

The site viewer, extension and widget read on your device. Checking, converting, fixing, making, bank conversion, the API, MCP and email-in use server processing.

Is all processing in the EU?

No. Klarbon uses a global network, so request handling and TLS decryption can take place outside the EU. Browser viewing avoids uploading your document.

Does Klarbon log what is in my invoice?

Application diagnostics do not include invoice text, amounts or filenames. Service logs can contain request metadata, and email delivery has separate retention.

What does Klarbon store about me?

Account and payment references are stored. Anonymous server tools also keep pseudonymous usage and rate-limit records. Analytics uses no cookies, but language, sign-in and referral attribution use cookies.

Is my bank statement stored while I decide whether to pay?

The result is encrypted by the server and sent back to your browser. Leaving to sign in or pay can keep that encrypted result in tab sessionStorage until it is resumed or expires. The browser never receives the key.
