Warning

UBL-CR-182: The seller's liquidation status code should be left out

In short

Warning: worth checking.

UBL-CR-182 means the UBL file contains a liquidation status code for the seller (CompanyLiquidationStatusCode), which EN 16931 does not use. It is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted, but you can remove the element to get a clean result.

On this page

What it means

The rule checks the seller's legal entity block (cac:PartyLegalEntity) and fails when it holds a cbc:CompanyLiquidationStatusCode. That element exists in the full UBL standard and can say whether the seller's company is in liquidation. EN 16931 has no field for it, so an invoice that follows EN 16931 should not carry it. The fields EN 16931 does use in this block, such as the company registration number (BT-30) and the additional legal information (BT-33), are not affected.

Why it matters

This is only a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. Because EN 16931 has no place for this information, the recipient's software is not expected to read it. It is usually ignored and never reaches their records. Peppol BIS, XRechnung and the national UBL rule sets all raise the same warning.

How to fix it

Remove cbc:CompanyLiquidationStatusCode from cac:AccountingSupplierParty/cac:Party/cac:PartyLegalEntity and export the file again. If your invoicing software adds it, look for a company status or legal status setting in the seller details or the e-invoice export options and switch it off. It is worth fixing when you build the XML yourself or want a file with no warnings. Otherwise the invoice can be sent as it is.

The rule as published

A UBL invoice should not include the AccountingSupplierParty Party PartyLegalEntity CompanyLiquidationStatusCode
