Warning

UBL-CR-183: The seller's share capital amount should be left out

In short

Warning: worth checking.

UBL-CR-183 means the UBL file contains a separate share capital amount for the seller (CorporateStockAmount), which EN 16931 does not use. It is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. If the amount has to appear on the invoice, write it as text in the seller's additional legal information (BT-33) instead.

What it means

The rule checks the seller's legal entity block (cac:PartyLegalEntity) and fails when it holds a cbc:CorporateStockAmount, the seller's share capital given as an amount. EN 16931 has no field for that. EN 16931 only carries share capital as free text, in the seller's additional legal information (BT-33).

Why it matters

This is only a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. A separate share capital amount sits outside EN 16931, so the recipient's software is not expected to read it and it is normally dropped. BT-33 is part of the standard, so it is the safer place for this detail.

How to fix it

Remove cbc:CorporateStockAmount from cac:AccountingSupplierParty/cac:Party/cac:PartyLegalEntity and export again. If your invoice has to show your share capital, put it in the seller's additional legal information, which is cbc:CompanyLegalForm in UBL, for example as the words Share capital followed by the amount. In your invoicing software, look for a legal information or company details field in the seller settings. It is worth fixing when the invoice must show the share capital, because the separate amount may not be read.

The rule as published

A UBL invoice should not include the AccountingSupplierParty Party PartyLegalEntity CorporateStockAmount
