Warning

UBL-CR-186: The seller's corporate registration scheme should be left out

In short

Warning: worth checking.

UBL-CR-186 means the seller's legal entity in the UBL file contains a corporate registration scheme block (CorporateRegistrationScheme), which EN 16931 does not use. It is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. Remove the block and keep the company registration number (BT-30) in its normal field.

On this page

What it means

The rule checks the seller's legal entity block (cac:PartyLegalEntity) and fails when it holds a cac:CorporateRegistrationScheme. In the full UBL standard this block describes the register the company is entered in. EN 16931 carries the company registration number (BT-30) in cbc:CompanyID in the same legal entity block, with an optional schemeID attribute that names the register.

Why it matters

This is only a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. The recipient identifies the seller's company from the registration number (BT-30) and its scheme code. The extra scheme block is not part of the standard, so it is not read.

How to fix it

Remove cac:CorporateRegistrationScheme from cac:AccountingSupplierParty/cac:Party/cac:PartyLegalEntity. Check that your company registration number is still in cbc:CompanyID in that block. To say which register it comes from, use the schemeID attribute on that element with the four-digit ISO 6523 code, for example 0106 for a Dutch KvK number or 0009 for a French SIRET. It is worth fixing when you build the XML yourself, or when you want the register to be stated in the supported way.

The rule as published

A UBL invoice should not include the AccountingSupplierParty Party PartyLegalEntity CorporateRegistrationScheme
