What it means
The totals section (SpecifiedTradeSettlementHeaderMonetarySummation) holds the paid amount (BT-113), the sum of what has been paid before the invoice is issued, such as a deposit or an advance payment. In the file it is the element TotalPrepaidAmount, and the check allows it at most once.
Why it matters
This figure is deducted from the invoice total to give the amount due. With two values the recipient cannot tell how much has been paid, so the amount due is in doubt. This is a fatal error and the invoice is rejected.
How to fix it
Check how much has already been paid on this invoice, such as a deposit or an advance payment, and make sure it appears once in the totals. Export the invoice again from your invoicing software. If you edit the XML yourself, delete the extra TotalPrepaidAmount and keep the one that equals everything paid in advance.
