Warning

CII-SR-282: Do not name a tax representative for the buyer

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-282 means the invoice names a tax representative for the buyer, and EN 16931 only has one for the seller. Remove the buyer's tax representative, or if you meant the seller's, enter it as the seller's tax representative.

On this page

What it means

The invoice header contains a BuyerTaxRepresentativeTradeParty element, which names a tax representative acting for the buyer. EN 16931 only has a tax representative for the seller (BG-11), none for the buyer.

Why it matters

This is only a warning, so the file is still accepted. A buyer's tax representative has no field in the EN 16931 data model, so the buyer's software has nowhere to read it into and it will probably be lost.

How to fix it

Check your invoicing software for a tax representative field on the customer record and stop it being exported in the e-invoice. If you meant the seller's tax representative, enter it under the seller's tax representative instead, with its name and VAT number. It is worth fixing if the information is meant to reach the buyer, since it will not travel in this element.
