Warning

CII-SR-224: Seller's legal organisation should not have its own name

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-224 means the seller's legal organisation has a Name element, which EN 16931 does not use. The invoice is still accepted, and you clear the warning by deleting it and making sure the seller name is in the seller's own Name.

On this page

What it means

The seller name (BT-27) belongs in the Name directly under SellerTradeParty. The legal organisation of the seller may only hold the company registration number (BT-30) and the trading name (BT-28), so the rule checks that it has no Name of its own.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the invoice is still accepted. The recipient reads the seller name from the seller itself, so a name inside the legal organisation is ignored. If that is the only place your name appears, the required seller name is missing, which is a bigger problem.

How to fix it

Check that SellerTradeParty has its own Name with your registered business name. Then delete Name from SpecifiedLegalOrganization. If you use a different trading name, put it in TradingBusinessName in the same place.
