Print or save an invoice as PDF

Open an e-invoice in Klarbon, then print it or save it as a PDF from your browser, free. Keep the original XML too: the PDF is a readable copy.

On this page

Open the e-invoice in Klarbon, then use your browser's print option: choose a printer, or "Save as PDF" to get a readable PDF copy. It is free, needs no account and runs on your device. The PDF is a copy for reading, approving or sharing; keep the original XML or hybrid PDF as the e-invoice itself.

How do I print or save it?

  1. Open the e-invoice: drop or pick the XML file, or a ZUGFeRD or Factur-X PDF.
  2. Check the language and layout of the readable invoice.
  3. Choose Print in Klarbon or in your browser menu, then a printer or Save as PDF.

On a phone, use the browser's share or print option; see open invoices on your phone.

Is the PDF the invoice?

No. The structured file you received, such as an XRechnung, a Peppol BIS invoice or the XML inside a Factur-X, is the e-invoice. The PDF Klarbon makes shows the same data in readable form. It is useful for approval, for a colleague without the right software, or for your own records next to the original.

Should I keep the XML?

Yes. Keep the file as you received it. How long, and in which form, is set by tax and bookkeeping rules in your country, and they generally concern the invoice you received rather than a copy you made. Ask your tax adviser or your tax authority which rules apply to you; Klarbon does not give tax advice.

What if the file does not open?

If Klarbon cannot read the file, it says why: for example a PDF without embedded invoice data, or an XML file that is not an invoice. A PDF without invoice data is an ordinary PDF and can be printed directly. If the invoice opens but looks wrong, check it for errors.

Frequently asked questions

How do I save an XRechnung or other XML invoice as a PDF?

Open it in Klarbon, then choose Print and select "Save as PDF" as the printer. It is free and the file stays on your device.

Is a printed e-invoice the same as the original XML file?

No. The PDF shows the same data in readable form, but the structured file is the e-invoice. Treat the PDF as a copy for reading, approval or sharing.

Should I keep the original XML after saving a PDF copy?

Yes. Keep the file you received, in the form you received it, for as long as your tax rules require. Your tax adviser or the tax authority can tell you the rules that apply to you.

Does the PDF show everything in the XML?

It shows every field Klarbon reads, including notes, payment terms and attachments listed in the invoice. The original remains the reference if anything differs.
