Malaysia requires e-invoices in phases by annual turnover or revenue, through the Inland Revenue Board's MyInvois system. According to LHDNM, the obligation started on 1 August 2024 for taxpayers above RM100 million and reached taxpayers with turnover up to RM5 million on 1 January 2026; taxpayers below RM3 million are exempt.

This page summarises LHDNM's e-Invoice implementation timeline, checked on 5 November 2026. It is not tax advice; your tax agent can tell you how the rules apply to you.

How does it work?

Taxpayers submit the documents they issue to MyInvois, LHDNM's e-invoicing system, and are notified of events related to them. LHDNM publishes the MyInvois SDK, which documents the APIs that ERP systems use to integrate with MyInvois and automate the process (MyInvois SDK).

What can Klarbon do with Malaysian invoices?

Klarbon does not read MyInvois documents today and does not submit invoices to LHDNM. If you also trade with Europe, you can open an e-invoice from a European customer or supplier for free.
