Understanding Malaysia MyInvois

MyInvois accepts Malaysian e-invoices in UBL 2.1 XML or JSON for validation by LHDNM. Read about document types, signatures and the phases to 2026.

On this page

MyInvois is the system of Malaysia's Inland Revenue Board (LHDNM) where taxpayers submit e-invoices for validation. Documents are UBL 2.1, as XML or JSON, typed as invoice, credit, debit or refund note. Version 1.1 requires a digital signature. Validated documents get a UUID and a validation link for the buyer. It applies in phases from 1 August 2024 to 1 January 2026. Klarbon support is planned, not available yet.

What is in a MyInvois document?

Property Value
Syntax UBL 2.1, XML or UBL 2.1 JSON
Versions 1.0 without signature validation, 1.1 with it

Version field InvoiceTypeCode/@listVersionID, for example 1.1
Signature X.509 certificate from a Malaysian certification authority
Returned on validation UUID and long ID, which form the validation link
Run by Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM)

LHDNM publishes the document types, codes, signature rules and API in the MyInvois SDK (SDK, document types, type codes, signature).

When does e-invoicing apply?

From Annual turnover or revenue
1 August 2024 above RM100 million
1 January 2025 above RM25 million, up to RM100 million
1 July 2025 above RM5 million, up to RM25 million
1 January 2026 up to RM5 million

Taxpayers with annual turnover or revenue below RM3 million are exempt, according to the timeline LHDNM updated on 30 August 2026 (LHDNM timeline).

What does Klarbon do with MyInvois documents?

Klarbon does not support MyInvois today; opening MyInvois documents is planned, not available yet. Klarbon does not submit documents to MyInvois, sign them or create validation links; a UUID only comes from LHDNM validation. Klarbon opens supported UBL 2.1 and CII D16B invoices; see the invoice viewer.

Frequently asked questions

What is MyInvois?

The system of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM) where taxpayers submit the e-invoices they issue for validation and are notified of events on them. Systems connect through its API; there is also a portal.

Which format does MyInvois use?

UBL 2.1, in XML or in the UBL 2.1 JSON form. The document type and its version go in InvoiceTypeCode, for example 01 with listVersionID 1.1.

What is the difference between version 1.0 and 1.1?

The structure is the same. Version 1.1 has signature validation enabled, so the document must carry a digital signature made with a certificate from a Malaysian certification authority. Version 1.0 will be retired at a date still to be announced.

How does the buyer check a validated e-invoice?

Through the validation link, built from the portal address, the document's UUID and its long ID returned by MyInvois. A QR code can be generated from that link.
