Warning

CII-SR-377: Do not include a card valid-from date

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-377 means the payment card details in the file include a ValidFromDateTime element, the date and time from which the card is valid, which EN 16931 does not use. Fix it by deleting that element. The file is still accepted.

On this page

What it means

The payment card details (ApplicableTradeSettlementFinancialCard) inside the payment means section contain a ValidFromDateTime element. EN 16931 describes a card only by its number (BT-87) and the cardholder name (BT-88), so a start date has no field.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The buyer's software only reads the fields EN 16931 defines, so the date is ignored. It is worth fixing to keep the file clean.

How to fix it

Switch off the card start date in the payment details your invoicing software exports. If you edit the XML yourself, delete the ValidFromDateTime element from the card details. Keep the card number (BT-87) and the cardholder name (BT-88) if the invoice is paid by card.
