Warning

CII-SR-380: Do not include a card interest rate

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-380 means the payment card details in the file include an InterestRatePercent element, the interest rate on the card, which EN 16931 does not use. Fix it by deleting that element. The file is still accepted.

On this page

What it means

The payment card details (ApplicableTradeSettlementFinancialCard) inside the payment means section contain an InterestRatePercent element. EN 16931 has no field for an interest rate on a card. It allows only the card number (BT-87) and the cardholder name (BT-88).

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The rate does not affect the invoice totals or the VAT, and the buyer's software is not expected to read it. It is worth fixing to keep the file clean.

How to fix it

Remove the interest rate from the card details your invoicing software exports. If you edit the XML yourself, delete the InterestRatePercent element from the card details. If you charge interest or a fee for late payment, say so in the payment terms (BT-20) as plain text instead.
