Warning

CII-SR-119: A discount on the item price must be a discount with an amount

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-119 means the adjustment on the price of an invoice line is marked as a charge, or has a marker without an amount, or an amount without a marker. Fix it so the price carries either one discount, marked as a discount and with its amount, or no adjustment at all.

What it means

The gross price block of an invoice line (GrossPriceProductTradePrice, inside SpecifiedLineTradeAgreement) may carry only a price discount (BT-147). The check passes when the adjustment is marked as a discount (ChargeIndicator false) and has an amount (ActualAmount), or when there is no adjustment at all. It fails when the adjustment is marked as a charge (ChargeIndicator true), or when only the marker or only the amount is given.

Why it matters

The price discount is the amount taken off the price before discount (BT-148) to reach the unit price. A surcharge, or an adjustment missing its marker or its amount, cannot be read that way, so the recipient may not be able to follow how the unit price came about. This is a warning and the invoice is still accepted. It is worth fixing if the adjustment changes what the buyer pays.

How to fix it

Look at the price on each affected line. If it is a reduction, export it as a discount with its amount. If it is a surcharge, move it to a charge on the line (BG-28) or on the whole invoice instead of the price. If there is no real adjustment, remove the empty price adjustment from the file.
