Warning

CII-SR-123: Do not give a base amount on an item price discount

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-123 means the discount on the price of an invoice line states the amount it was calculated from, which EN 16931 does not use. Remove the base amount and keep the discount amount; the file is still accepted.

On this page

What it means

The gross price block of an invoice line (GrossPriceProductTradePrice, inside SpecifiedLineTradeAgreement) contains a discount (AppliedTradeAllowanceCharge) with a BasisAmount, the amount a percentage was applied to. The price discount (BT-147) is given as an amount only.

Why it matters

Recipients ignore the base amount and use the discount amount. This is a warning and the invoice is still accepted. Fixing it mainly gives you a clean check result.

How to fix it

Remove the base amount from the price discount of every line and keep the discount amount (ActualAmount). Check that the discount amount is the final figure taken off the price, not a percentage. If the buyer needs to see how it was worked out, add a short note to the line.
