What it means
A supporting document in the invoice can point to a file stored elsewhere through a link, the external document location (BT-124). XRechnung 3.0 requires this link to be an absolute URL, meaning a full address that starts with a scheme such as https://. A relative path, a bare domain without a scheme or plain text instead of an address does not pass. The rule applies to UBL and CII files, and to credit notes as well as invoices.
Why it matters
The recipient's software uses this link to fetch the document. An address that is incomplete cannot be followed, so the file breaks the XRechnung rules and is rejected.
How to fix it
Find where your invoicing software stores links to supporting documents, often under attachments or additional documents. Enter the complete address including the https:// part, for example https://example.com/terms.pdf. If the document does not need to be linked, remove the link, or embed the file as an attachment instead.
