Warning: worth checking

BR-TMP-4: Give each supporting document one description at most

In short

BR-TMP-4 means a supporting document in a CII invoice has more than one description (BT-123). The file is still accepted, but you should keep a single description per supporting document.

On this page

What it means

In a CII file, a supporting document (type code 916) belongs to the additional supporting documents (BG-24). Its description (BT-123, the ram:Name element) may appear only once. The check counts the descriptions on each such document and finds more than one.

Why it matters

This is a warning, so the file is still accepted. The invoice data has room for only one description per supporting document, so a recipient's software may read one and drop the rest. It is worth fixing when you can, and before you send to a buyer who checks strictly.

How to fix it

Open the supporting document in your invoicing software and look for a second description or name. Combine the text into one short description, or delete the extra one. If each description belongs to a different document, add each document as its own supporting document.

The rule as published

BT-123 "Supporting document description" (ram:Name) darf innerhalb von "Additional supporting documents" (BG-24) höchstens einmal vorkommen.

Business terms: BG-24, BT-123
