BR-DE-24-B: Card payments must not carry bank account or debit details

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-DE-24-B means the payment is marked as a card payment (code 48, 54 or 55) but the same payment block also holds bank account or direct debit details. Fix it by removing those details, or by changing the payment code to match them.

On this page

What it means

The payment means type code (BT-81) says card payment (48, 54 or 55), yet the same payment block also contains credit transfer details (BG-17) or direct debit details (BG-19). A card payment may only carry the payment card information (BG-18).

Why it matters

The payment code and the details contradict each other. The recipient cannot tell whether to expect a card payment, a transfer or a debit, so the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Check the payment section of the invoice. If the buyer pays by card, keep the card information and delete the IBAN and any mandate details from that payment block. If you want to be paid by transfer or direct debit, change the payment means code to the matching one (30 or 58 for a transfer, 59 for direct debit) and remove the card details.

The rule as published

Wenn BT-81 "Payment means type code" einen Schlüssel für Kartenzahlungen enthält (48, 54, 55), dürfen BG-17 und BG-19 nicht übermittelt werden.

Business terms: BG-17, BG-19, BT-81
