BR-DE-23-A: Bank transfer payments need the seller's bank account

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-DE-23-A means the payment is marked as a bank transfer (code 30 or 58) but no bank account to pay into is given. Fix it by adding the seller's account, normally the IBAN, in the credit transfer details.

On this page

What it means

The payment means type code (BT-81) is 30 or 58, which stand for a credit transfer and a SEPA credit transfer, but the payment details have no credit transfer block (BG-17) with the account to pay into. The account number is the payment account identifier (BT-84), normally an IBAN.

Why it matters

A transfer without an account leaves the recipient with nowhere to send the money, and their system cannot pay the invoice automatically. XRechnung treats this as an error, so the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

In the payment details of your invoicing software, enter the IBAN of the account you want to be paid into, plus the account holder name and the BIC if there are fields for them. If you do not want to be paid by transfer, change the payment means to the one that matches, such as direct debit or card, and fill in the matching details.

The rule as published

Wenn BT-81 "Payment means type code" einen Schlüssel für Überweisungen enthält (30, 58), muss BG-17 "CREDIT TRANSFER" übermittelt werden.

Business terms: BG-17, BT-81
