BR-DE-25-A: Direct debit payments need the direct debit details

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-DE-25-A means the payment is marked as a direct debit (code 59) but the direct debit details are missing. Fix it by adding the mandate details, or by changing the payment code if you are not collecting by direct debit.

What it means

The payment means type code (BT-81) is 59, which stands for a direct debit, but the payment details have no direct debit block (BG-19). That block holds, for example, the mandate reference (BT-89) and the account to be debited (BT-91).

Why it matters

Without the mandate details, the recipient cannot see which agreement allows the amount to be taken from their account, or from which account. The invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

In the payment section, enter the reference of the mandate the buyer signed and the IBAN of the account that will be debited. If you are not collecting by direct debit, change the payment means to the right code and give the matching details.

The rule as published

Wenn BT-81 "Payment means type code" einen Schlüssel für Lastschriften enthält (59), muss genau BG-19 "DIRECT DEBIT" übermittelt werden.

Business terms: BG-19, BT-81
