BR-DE-25-B: Direct debit payments must not carry transfer or card details

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-DE-25-B means the payment is marked as a direct debit (code 59) but the same payment block also holds bank transfer or card details. Fix it by removing those details, or by changing the payment code to match them.

On this page

What it means

The payment means type code (BT-81) says direct debit (59), yet the same payment block also contains credit transfer details (BG-17) or payment card information (BG-18). A direct debit may only carry the direct debit details (BG-19).

Why it matters

The payment code and the details contradict each other. The recipient cannot tell whether the amount will be debited, transferred or charged to a card, so the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Check the payment section of the invoice. If you are collecting by direct debit, keep the mandate details and delete the IBAN to pay into and any card details from that payment block. If the buyer pays by transfer or card instead, change the payment means code to the matching one and remove the mandate details.

The rule as published

Wenn BT-81 "Payment means type code" einen Schlüssel für Lastschriften enthält (59), dürfen BG-17 und BG-18 nicht übermittelt werden.

Business terms: BG-17, BG-18, BT-81
