Japan's digital invoice standard is JP PINT, a Peppol-based specification managed by the Digital Agency, which has acted as the Japan Peppol Authority since September 2021. The Digital Agency describes it as a standard rather than an obligation, and Klarbon has not found an official source for a general e-invoicing mandate.
This page summarises the Digital Agency's JP PINT page, checked on 5 November 2026. It is not tax advice; your zeirishi can tell you how the rules apply to you.
