UBL-SR-54: An invoice can have only one payment card account

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

UBL-SR-54 means the invoice has more than one payment card account (BG-18). Keep one card account and remove the others.

On this page

What it means

The payment card information (BG-18) describes the card used to pay: the card number (BT-87) and the card holder name (BT-88). The check counts the card accounts (cac:CardAccount) in the payment means of the whole invoice and allows at most one.

Why it matters

EN 16931 has room for one card account per invoice. A second one has no field to go into, so the recipient's checks reject the invoice.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, check the payment details for a second card entry and remove it. If you build the XML yourself, keep one cac:CardAccount in cac:PaymentMeans across the whole invoice.

The rule as published
