What it means
When the seller and the buyer are both in Germany and the payment means type code (BT-81) is 48 (bank card), 54 (credit card) or 55 (debit card), the invoice must contain the payment card information (BG-18). The check looks for the card account block inside that payment instruction. That block normally holds the card number (BT-87) and may hold the card holder name (BT-88).
Why it matters
The code says the invoice is settled by card, but nothing identifies the card. The recipient cannot match the payment to the invoice, so the file is rejected.
How to fix it
In your invoicing software, open the payment details of the invoice and add the card information. Enter only the last few digits of the card number, never the full number. If the invoice is not paid by card, change the payment method to the one that applies, such as bank transfer, and fill in its details instead.
