What it means
When an attached document (BG-24) has a description (BT-123), that description must be a qualification code from the list the French rules allow, not free text. An attachment without a description passes this rule. It runs on UBL invoices, UBL credit notes and CII files.
Why it matters
France uses the description to say what each attachment is, for example the readable copy of the invoice. A description the approved platform (plateforme agréée) does not recognise cannot be classified, so the invoice is rejected.
How to fix it
Find the attached document in your invoicing software and look at its description or type field. Replace any free text, such as PDF copy or Terms, with a code from the French specification, for example LISIBLE for the readable copy of the invoice. Your platform or software supplier can tell you which code fits each attachment. This rule only fires when a description is filled in.
The rule as published
Le code de qualification de la pièce jointe " … " est invalide. Il doit appartenir à la liste des codes autorisés. Veuillez corriger la valeur de BT-123. Business terms: BT-123
