BR-RO-L1020: Supporting document description must be 100 characters or fewer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-L1020 means the description of a supporting document (BT-123) is longer than 100 characters. Fix it by shortening the description to a few words and keeping the detail in the document itself.

What it means

The description of a supporting document referenced by the invoice (BT-123), such as a contract, timesheet or delivery note, must not be longer than 100 characters. Extra spaces at either end and repeated spaces are ignored before counting. In UBL it is the DocumentDescription element of an additional document reference.

Why it matters

Romania's rules for RO e-Factura set this limit and a breach is fatal. The check fails and the file is rejected until the description is shortened.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open the attachments or document references on the invoice and look at the description of each one. Use a short label, such as 'Signed delivery note', and leave explanations to the attached document. Then create the e-invoice again.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Descrierea documentului justificativ (BT-123) este 100. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Supporting document description (BT-123) is 100.

Business terms: BT-123
