What it means

The payment account name (BT-85) is the name of the holder of the bank account the buyer pays into. It may be at most 200 characters in the Romanian rule set for RO e-Factura (CIUS-RO). In the UBL file this is Name inside PayeeFinancialAccount, and each payment means block is checked on its own. Leading and trailing spaces are ignored and repeated spaces count once.

Why it matters

The account name lets the buyer check that the money goes to the right account holder. This is a fatal rule, so RO e-Factura rejects the invoice and you have to send a corrected file.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open the bank details shown on the invoice and look at the account name or account holder field. Keep only the name, not the IBAN, the bank name or payment instructions, which have their own fields. Then create the file again.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Numele contului de plata (BT-85), este 200. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Payment account name (BT-85) is 200.

Business terms: BT-85
