What it means

The payment terms (Payment terms, BT-20) written on the invoice or credit note may be at most 300 characters long. The test counts the characters of the note inside the payment terms, ignoring spaces at the start and end.

Why it matters

Payment terms tell the buyer when and how to pay. CIUS-RO limits the text to 300 characters and the rule is fatal, so RO e-Factura rejects the file until you send a corrected one.

How to fix it

Find the payment terms text in your invoicing software. It is often a template field on the invoice or a setting on the customer record. Cut it down to the essentials, such as the number of days, the due date and the late payment rule, and put full terms and conditions in an attachment.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Termeni de plata (BT-20) este 300. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Payment terms (BT-20) is 300.

Business terms: BT-20
