BR-RO-L205: Payee name must be 200 characters or fewer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-L205 means the payee's name (BT-59) is longer than 200 characters. Fix it by entering only the name of the party that receives the payment.

What it means

The payee's name (BT-59) is the name of the party that receives the payment, given when that is not the seller. It may be at most 200 characters in the Romanian rule set for RO e-Factura (CIUS-RO). In the UBL file this is Name inside PartyName of the payee. Leading and trailing spaces are ignored and repeated spaces count once.

Why it matters

The payee name tells the buyer who is actually paid, for example a factoring company. This is a fatal rule, so RO e-Factura rejects the invoice and you have to send a corrected file.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, find the setting for a different payee or collection party and check the name field. Keep only the name of the company or person and remove any address or note. If the seller is paid directly, the payee block is not needed and can be left out.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Numele Beneficiarului (BT-59), este 200. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Payee name (BT-59) is 200.

Business terms: BT-59
