BR-RO-L1009: Buyer contact point must be 100 characters or fewer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-L1009 means the contact point of the buyer (BT-56), the person or department to contact, is longer than 100 characters. Fix it by shortening it to a name or department of 100 characters or fewer.

What it means

The contact point of the buyer (BT-56), normally the name of a person or a department, must not be longer than 100 characters. Extra spaces at either end and repeated spaces are ignored before counting. In UBL it is the Name element in the buyer's contact details.

Why it matters

Romania's rules for RO e-Factura set this limit and a breach is fatal. The check fails and the file is rejected until the contact point is corrected.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open the customer's record (the buyer) and look at the contact name. Use a short name or department, such as 'Purchasing', and move phone numbers, email addresses and notes to their own fields (BT-57 and BT-58) or remove them. Then create the e-invoice again.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Punctul de contact al Cumparatorului (BT-56) este 100. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Buyer contact point (BT-56) is 100.

Business terms: BT-56
