What it means

The email address of the buyer's contact (BT-58) must not be longer than 100 characters. Extra spaces at either end and repeated spaces are ignored before counting. In UBL it is the ElectronicMail element in the buyer's contact details.

Why it matters

Romania's rules for RO e-Factura set this limit and a breach is fatal. The check fails and the file is rejected until the email field is corrected.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open the customer's record (the buyer) and look at the contact email address. An email address over 100 characters is usually a list of several addresses or a name written around the address. Keep one address, then create the e-invoice again.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Adresa de email a contactului Cumparatorului (BT-58) este 100. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Buyer contact email address (BT-58) is 100.

Business terms: BT-58
