In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

What it means

The third address line of the seller's tax representative (BT-164), the party appointed to deal with VAT for the seller, must not be longer than 100 characters. Spaces count, but extra spaces at the start or end and repeated spaces are ignored. In UBL it is the Line element inside the address line group of the tax representative's postal address.

Why it matters

Romania's rules for RO e-Factura set this limit and a breach is fatal. The file is rejected and the invoice is not accepted until the line is shortened.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open the tax representative details for the seller and find the third address line. Shorten it to 100 characters or fewer, or clear it if it is not needed. If you have no tax representative, that block should not be in the invoice at all.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Adresa reprezentantului fiscal - Linia 3 (BT-164) este 100. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Tax representative address line 3 (BT-164) is 100.

Business terms: BT-164
