BR-RO-L0203: Tax representative post code must be 20 characters or fewer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-L0203 means the post code of the seller's tax representative (BT-67) is longer than 20 characters. Fix it by entering only the post code, or by removing the tax representative if the seller has none.

What it means

The post code of the seller's tax representative (BT-67) may be at most 20 characters in the Romanian rule set for RO e-Factura (CIUS-RO). In the UBL file this is PostalZone in the postal address of the tax representative. Leading and trailing spaces are ignored and repeated spaces count once.

Why it matters

The tax representative is the party that acts for the seller on VAT matters, and its address is part of the invoice. This is a fatal rule, so RO e-Factura rejects the invoice and you have to send a corrected file.

How to fix it

Most sellers have no tax representative, so first check whether this block should be on the invoice at all. If it should, open its address in your invoicing software and leave only the post code in that field. Put the city, the country and other details in their own fields.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Codul postal al reprezentantului fiscal (BT-67) este 20. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Tax representative post code (BT-67) is 20.

Business terms: BT-67
