BR-RO-L0204: Delivery post code must be 20 characters or fewer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-L0204 means the post code of the delivery address (BT-78) is longer than 20 characters. Fix it by entering only the post code in that field.

On this page

What it means

The post code of the place where the goods or services are delivered (BT-78) may be at most 20 characters in the Romanian rule set for RO e-Factura (CIUS-RO). In the UBL file this is PostalZone in the address of the delivery location. Leading and trailing spaces are ignored and repeated spaces count once.

Why it matters

The delivery address says where the goods or services went when that differs from the buyer's address. This is a fatal rule, so RO e-Factura rejects the invoice and you have to send a corrected file.

How to fix it

In your invoicing software, open the delivery address of the invoice or of the customer and look at the post code field. A value this long usually means the city or delivery instructions were entered together with the code. Leave only the post code there and put the other details in their own fields.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Codul postal de livrare (BT-78) este 20. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Deliver to post code (BT-78) is 20.

Business terms: BT-78
