BR-RO-L203: Buyer name must be 200 characters or fewer

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-RO-L203 means the buyer's name (BT-44) is longer than 200 characters. Fix it by entering only the buyer's registered name in that field.

What it means

The buyer's name (BT-44) may be at most 200 characters in the Romanian rule set for RO e-Factura (CIUS-RO). In the UBL file this is RegistrationName in the buyer's legal entity. Leading and trailing spaces are ignored and repeated spaces count once.

Why it matters

The buyer's name says who the invoice is addressed to and is what the buyer's system matches it against. This is a fatal rule, so RO e-Factura rejects the invoice and you have to send a corrected file.

How to fix it

Open the customer's record in your invoicing software and check the company name field. Remove anything that is not the name, such as an address, a contact person or a note. If the registered name really is longer than 200 characters, use the closest short form that clearly identifies the company.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Numele Cumparatorului (BT-44), este 200. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Buyer name (BT-44) is 200.

Business terms: BT-44
