BR-DEC-25: Base amount of a line discount: at most two decimals

In short

BR-DEC-25 means the base amount of a discount on an invoice line has more than two decimals. Fix it on that line by rounding the base amount to two decimals, or by removing it if you do not need it.

On this page

What it means

The base amount of a discount on one invoice line (BT-137), the figure the line discount percentage is worked out from, has more than two digits after the decimal point. Every digit after the point counts, so 56.125 fails and so does 56.100.

Why it matters

The base amount lets the recipient follow how the line discount was calculated. With more than two decimals it cannot be booked as stated, so the file fails validation and is rejected.

How to fix it

On the line with the discount, find the amount the discount percentage is applied to and round it to two decimals. The base amount is optional, so you can also remove it and keep only the discount amount. Check that the exported file holds the rounded figure, not just the screen.

The rule as published

The allowed maximum number of decimals for the Invoice line allowance base amount (BT-137) is 2.
