BR-CO-16: Amount due must equal total with VAT minus paid plus rounding

In short

BR-CO-16 means the amount due is not the total with VAT minus any amount already paid plus any rounding. Fix it by recalculating it; with no prepayment, the amount due equals the total with VAT.

On this page

What it means

The amount due for payment (BT-115) is not the total with VAT (BT-112) minus any amount already paid (BT-113) plus any rounding amount (BT-114).

Why it matters

This is the amount the buyer will pay. If it does not follow from the totals, the payment cannot be matched and the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Work it out again: total with VAT, minus any prepayment or deposit already received, plus or minus a rounding amount if you use one. If nothing has been paid in advance, the amount due equals the total with VAT.

The rule as published

Amount due for payment (BT-115) = Invoice total amount with VAT (BT-112) -Paid amount (BT-113) +Rounding amount (BT-114).

Business terms: BT-112, BT-113, BT-114, BT-115
