BR-14: Total with VAT is required

In short

BR-14 means the invoice total with VAT (BT-112) is missing. Let your invoicing software calculate the invoice totals and export again.

On this page

What it means

Every invoice must contain the invoice total with VAT (BT-112). It is the gross total of the invoice: the total without VAT plus the VAT.

Why it matters

EN 16931, the European e-invoicing standard, makes this field mandatory. Without it the recipient's system rejects the invoice before anyone reads it, and public bodies and Peppol access points refuse it outright.

How to fix it

Let your invoicing software calculate the invoice totals and export again. If you build the XML yourself, add cbc:TaxInclusiveAmount (UBL) or ram:GrandTotalAmount (CII).

The rule as published

An Invoice shall have the Invoice total amount with VAT (BT-112).
