BR-15: Amount due is required

In short

BR-15 means the amount due for payment (BT-115) is missing. Let your invoicing software calculate the amount due and export again.

On this page

What it means

Every invoice must contain the amount due for payment (BT-115). It is what the buyer still has to pay: the total with VAT minus anything already paid.

Why it matters

EN 16931, the European e-invoicing standard, makes this field mandatory. Without it the recipient's system rejects the invoice before anyone reads it, and public bodies and Peppol access points refuse it outright.

How to fix it

Let your invoicing software calculate the amount due and export again. If you build the XML yourself, add cbc:PayableAmount (UBL) or ram:DuePayableAmount (CII), even when it is zero because the invoice is already paid.

The rule as published

An Invoice shall have the Amount due for payment (BT-115).
