XAF, the XML Auditfile Financieel, is a Dutch open standard for exchanging data from accounting systems for reporting and audits. It holds ledger accounts, transactions and customer and supplier master data. The Belastingdienst, insolvency administrators and accountants are its main users. The 4.0 series reduces the data fields from 250 in version 3.2 to 90; the Belastingdienst publishes release 4.0.3. It is not an e-invoice.
What is in an XAF file?
General ledger accounts, ledger transactions and debtor and creditor master data, with a reporting code to pick out the information each user needs (Belastingdienst, in Dutch). The Belastingdienst describes contributions from accountants and software developers to version 4.0, including clearer use of the Referentie GrootboekSchema (RGS) reporting codes.
XAF and e-invoices
| File | Holds |

| UBL invoice | one invoice |
