UBL DespatchAdvice is the XML delivery note of UBL 2.1. The seller, or a despatch party such as a warehouse, sends it to tell the buyer what has been shipped, with order references, items, quantities and delivery details. Peppol BIS Despatch Advice 3 defines its use on Peppol. It carries no tax breakdown or payable amount. Klarbon support is planned, not available yet.

Frequently asked questions

What is a UBL DespatchAdvice?

An XML delivery note in UBL 2.1, with root element DespatchAdvice. The seller or a despatch party sends it to tell the buyer what has been shipped, when and how, so the goods can be received and checked against the order.

Does a despatch advice contain prices?

Usually not. It describes items and quantities shipped, with references to the order, but no tax breakdown or payable amount, so it cannot serve as an invoice.

How does Peppol identify a despatch advice?

By the profile urn:fdc:peppol.eu:poacc:bis:despatch_advice:3 and the customisation identifier urn:fdc:peppol.eu:poacc:trns:despatch_advice:3.

Who sends the despatch advice?

The seller in the simple process. In a more advanced process a separate despatch party, such as a warehouse or logistics provider, sends it on the seller's behalf.
