Understanding DATEV XML interface

DATEV XML interface online carries documents, invoice data and ledger data into DATEV's online services. See how the package differs from an e-invoice.

On this page

The DATEV XML interface online is DATEV's format for bringing documents and their data into DATEV's online services, where a tax adviser can book them. It has XML schemas for documents, ledger data and invoices. Several invoices, cash records or other documents travel together in a document package, which is a ZIP file when exported locally. It is a transfer format for bookkeeping, not an e-invoice for your customer.

What is in a DATEV XML package?

XML files following DATEV's schemas, with the document images where the use case needs them. The developer portal has the format description and the XSD files for the document, ledger and invoice formats (DATEV, in German).
