CII-SR-468: All payment means texts must be identical

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

CII-SR-468 means the invoice has several payment means and their payment means texts are not all the same. Fix it by using the same text on each, or by giving the text only once.

On this page

What it means

A payment means can carry a free text (BT-82), such as 'Pay by bank transfer to the account below'. The check compares each text with the first one and fails when any is different. A text that appears on only one payment means passes.

Why it matters

The standard has one payment means text for the whole invoice. If the texts differ, the recipient cannot tell which one applies, so the invoice is rejected.

How to fix it

Open the payment section of the invoice in your invoicing software. If you list more than one account, put the same sentence on each or keep it on just one. Put anything that applies to only one account in the payment terms or the invoice note instead.

The rule as published

All Payment means texts (BT-82) shall have the same value across all SpecifiedTradeSettlementPaymentMeans.

Business terms: BT-82
