Warning

CII-SR-130: Remove VAT details from the unit price discount

In short

Warning: worth checking.

CII-SR-130 means the discount on a line's unit price has its own VAT details (CategoryTradeTax), which an EN 16931 invoice should not contain. Delete that block from the discount; it is only a warning, so the file is still accepted.

What it means

On each line, the unit price before discount (BT-148) can carry one discount (BT-147). This rule checks that this discount holds no CategoryTradeTax block, which would give the discount its own VAT category and rate. The discount amount itself is allowed.

Why it matters

In EN 16931 the VAT of a line is stated once, on the line itself (BT-151 and BT-152), and the price discount takes part in that. A second set of VAT details on the discount is not read and could confuse a reader. The file is still accepted, because this is a warning. It is worth fixing for a clean file, or if you suspect the VAT category on the line is wrong.

How to fix it

Remove the CategoryTradeTax block from the AppliedTradeAllowanceCharge under GrossPriceProductTradePrice. Then check that the line still has its own VAT category and rate, in SpecifiedLineTradeSettlement, because the VAT of the line is taken from there. If your invoicing software writes the block, look for an export setting for EN 16931, XRechnung or Peppol BIS.
