What it means
If the seller has appointed a tax representative to deal with VAT, the city in that representative's address (Tax representative city, BT-66) may be at most 50 characters long. The test counts the characters of the city name, ignoring spaces at the start and end.
Why it matters
The city is part of the address that identifies the tax representative. CIUS-RO limits it to 50 characters and the rule is fatal, so RO e-Factura rejects the file until you send a corrected one.
How to fix it
Open the tax representative details in your invoicing software and check the city field. Keep only the city or town name there, and put the street and postcode in their own fields. If you have no tax representative, remove the section from the invoice.
The rule as published
Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Localitatea reprezentantului fiscal (BT-66) este 50. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Tax representative city (BT-66) is 50. Business terms: BT-66
