What it means

The reference of the tender, or of the lot within a tender, that the invoice relates to (Tender or lot reference, BT-17) may be at most 200 characters long. It is mostly used for public contracts. The test counts the characters of the identifier, ignoring spaces at the start and end.

Why it matters

CIUS-RO caps this reference at 200 characters and the rule is fatal. RO e-Factura rejects the file, so a public buyer cannot process it until you send a corrected one.

How to fix it

Find the tender reference or lot number in your invoicing software. Enter the identifier exactly as it appears in the tender documents, not the title or a description of the tender. If you do not invoice against a tender, leave the field empty.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Referinta cererii de oferta sau a lotului (BT-17) este 200. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Tender or lot reference (BT-17) is 200.

Business terms: BT-17
