BR-RO-L0501: Seller city: 50 characters at most

What it means

The city in the seller's address (Seller city, BT-37) may be at most 50 characters long. The test counts the characters of the city name, ignoring spaces at the start and end.

Why it matters

The city is part of the address that identifies the seller. CIUS-RO limits it to 50 characters and the rule is fatal, so RO e-Factura rejects the file until you send a corrected one.

How to fix it

Open your company details in your invoicing software and check the city field. It should hold the city or town name only, not the street, postcode or a full address. If the address was pasted into one field, split it into its parts.

The rule as published

Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Localitatea Vanzatorului (BT-37) este 50. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Seller city (BT-37) is 50.

Business terms: BT-37
