What it means
The purchase order number (Purchase order reference, BT-13), which is the buyer's own reference for the order, may be at most 200 characters long. The test counts the characters of the order identifier, ignoring spaces at the start and end.
Why it matters
Buyers match invoices to their orders using this number. CIUS-RO caps it at 200 characters and the rule is fatal, so RO e-Factura rejects the file until you send a corrected one.
How to fix it
Open the field called purchase order number, order reference or customer reference in your invoicing software. It should hold the number from the buyer's order, not a description. If you are invoicing many orders at once, keep the main number there and list the others in an attachment.
The rule as published
Numarul maxim permis de caractere pentru Referinta comenzii (BT-13) este 200. #The allowed maximum number of characters for the Purchase order reference(BT-13) is 200. Business terms: BT-13
