What it means
The credit note has the type code 262, which the French rules call a global discount credit note (Avoir Remise Globale). For this type the contract reference (BT-12) and the invoicing period (BG-14) must be filled in, with both a start date (BT-73) and an end date (BT-74). One missing item is enough to fail. The message shows the values that were found.
Why it matters
The contract and the period are what tell the recipient what the discount covers. Without them the credit note cannot be matched to anything and is rejected.
How to fix it
Enter the contract number the discount belongs to in the contract reference field (BT-12). Then enter the first and last day of the period it covers as the invoicing period start and end date. If this is not a global discount credit note, the type code is wrong: change it to the type that fits, for example 381 for an ordinary credit note.
The rule as published
Si le code type de la facture (BT-3) est égal à 262 (Avoir Remise Globale), alors : - Le numéro de contrat (BT-12) doit être présent - La période de facturation (BG-14) doit être renseignée (dates de début et de fin). Valeurs actuelles : BT-12=" … ", période=" … à … ". Business terms: BG-14, BT-3, BT-12
