BR-DEC-10: Total of whole-invoice discounts: at most two decimals

In short

Fatal: fails the selected checks.

BR-DEC-10 means the total of discounts on the whole invoice has more than two decimals. Fix it by rounding each discount to two decimals and using exactly their sum as the total.

On this page

What it means

The total of all discounts given on the whole invoice (BT-107) has more than two digits after the decimal point. Every digit after the point counts, so 25.125 fails and so does 25.100. In the Factur-X and ZUGFeRD rule sets only the wording of the message differs, and the check is the same.

Why it matters

This total is subtracted when the total without VAT is calculated. Extra decimals make the totals impossible to reconcile to the cent, so the file fails validation and is rejected.

How to fix it

Round each discount on the whole invoice (BT-92) to two decimals, add them up and use that sum as the total. It must equal the individual discounts added together. Leave line discounts out, because they are already part of the line amounts.

The rule as published

The allowed maximum number of decimals for the Sum of allowanced on document level (BT-107) is 2.
